Exvotos, or votive offerings, refer to a millennia-old ritual. Offerings are made to a god
with the request and hope for help. This usually involves an embodied figure of the problem. With the help of an AI image generator, new images were generated from an archive of historical images of these exvotos. These images were then moulded into wax figures.

The work looks at artificial intelligence as a complex bundle of expectations, ideologies, desires and fears and combines them with votive offerings to question aspects of a socio-technical system, forms of power and transcendence. It takes a critical look at the ideology of a dualism that understands disembodied intelligence without any relationship to the material world.
