Verkörpert, Mandarinengroße Bälle, Leder, Acryl, Pastellkreide, mit Latex beschichtet

Durch das Übertragen der im Ganzen geschälten Mandarinenhäute auf Leder, wurde es möglich die Formen der längst gegessenen Mandarinen erneut zu Rekonstruieren und dadurch die vergangene Frucht wiederherzustellen - jedoch in einer anderen Gestalt. Kleine und weich gefütterte rosa Bälle zerstreuen sich im Ausstellungsraum. Die Nähte erinnern an Narben und erzählen von Vergangenheit als verkörperte Geste. 

The flattened forms of the mandarine skins were transferred and cut from pink coated leather. By sewing the cut patterns together, the already long digested mandarine was reconstructed. The ball was filled, then coated with latex. Now, the pink balls are soft and fleshy, the seam like a scar.
Visually the balls differ from the original mandarines. It is expected to hold the balls, quite literally, to hold onto the original form of the mandarines. It’s the embodiment of a gesture.
