MIRA KLUG

Verkörpert (embodied), tangerine sized balls, leather, acrylic, pastel, coated with latex

In the serie “embodied”, the peeled forms of tangerine-skins are sewn together on painted deerskin, coated with latex. Here, Klug refers to the potential of memory that photography may trigger. The past or specifically “the eaten past” is symbolically recalled and represented as a haptic form. The balls are filled with tangerineseeds and fertile volcanic sand from Etna, which also marks an invisible content and potential of something new.
